Chess is a thinking game. It stimulates your mind and exercises your brain. If you want to exercise your mind, relax yourself from the stress and pressure, have fun, and/or kill the boredom, then the ideal solution would be a game of chess.

Chess lovers and players now need not wait for a partner to have a game of chess. Now, with the advancement of technology and the Internet, your desktop personal computer or even your laptop can be your trusted partner for a game of chess.

Yes. Now, it has become much easier to find a partner and have a workout for the brain, wherever and whenever you want to have fun and relax. I am talking about playing chess online.

Chess is a noble game and this is the primary reason for this game to be called as the King of Games. Ever since the game is introduced to the world in the 6th Century, the game has been attracting interest and passion among the people. In the early 1900s, the game got recognized as a professional sport and world championships are being held since then. Technology has embraced the game of chess in a big way and it is a challenge for medical researchers to exploit the game of chess to understand the human brain and its capabilities. Computer engineers are coming up with innovative software to teach the game and are taking this Chess to a different level. The contest between Gary Kasparov and Deep Blue Super computer is a memorable instance and reignited the fight between the man vs. machine concept.

By playing chess online, one can expand his knowledge about the game, make new friends, exchange ideas and learn new things. Winning a game in online chess would be a very great feeling that will boost your energy and lift your spirits to sky-high.

This is so, because the fair game of chess is designed such that it would normally end in a draw. At the start of the game, both players have equal number and set of pieces, the board in front to them, and no outside influence or pressure. There exists a sense of equilibrium. The game gives instant punishment for a wrong decision or a wrong move.

How can you win in a game of chess over your player?

There are only two ways in which one can win over the opponent in a game of chess – one is you do not make mistakes; and the second is that you identify the errors of the opponent and seize the opportunity presented by the mistake of the opponent,

It looks quite so simple to win a game of chess – is it not? It is not so easy as it seems to be prima facie.

In the game of chess, you are responsible for the fate of the game. If you make a wrong move, then you will be punished instantly. As such, you should not do any mistake in the moves. In order to make a flawless move, you should think deeply, focus on the board, concentrate, analyze, visualize, weigh the options, decide on a move and finally execute the same. If you are confident that you did make the right move, then there is no pressure or tension in the game and you will feel relaxed.

You can win only when the opponent makes a mistake. You cannot force your opponent to make a mistake directly. You can try to fool him or distract him with some smart sacrifices and force him to make a mistake. The probabilities of fooling the opponent and make him fall into a trap is a tough challenge – a very good aerobic exercise for the brain of course.

The only other recourse is to identify the flaw in the opponent’s move , be alert and pounce upon the mistake to snatch the advantage, piece or the King itself.

Now, with online chess, a person can play the game of chess at any point of time with the partners in virtual chess room or learn the game of chess in a fun way and gain mastery over the game.
